About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher – Visually Impaired (VI) to join our team in Glendale, AZ. In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring equal access to learning, growth, and development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEPs for students with visual impairments.
- Adapt curriculum materials into Braille, large print, tactile graphics, and assistive technology formats.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers.
- Participate in IEP meetings and team conferences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (focus in Visual Impairment preferred).
- Valid Arizona teaching certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement (or eligibility).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with orientation and mobility training.
- Ability to create accessible instructional materials.
- Knowledge of multiple disabilities combined with visual impairments.
