About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in achieving academic and social success. This role is essential in assisting with classroom management, providing instructional support, and ensuring a positive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing instructional plans and classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special needs.
- Support students in following directions, staying on task, and engaging in learning.
- Help manage classroom behavior and promote a safe, respectful environment.
- Assist with grading, preparing learning materials, and organizing resources.
- Support students with daily routines, mobility, and personal care needs (as required).
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student progress.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, field trips, or transitions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Understanding of child development and classroom management techniques.
- Willingness to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in special education or working with children with disabilities.
- Knowledge of educational technology and tools.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
